I have just finished a contract for Rowan International, the largest European distributor to discount retailers of consumer goods. I was responsible for the improving the buying operations. The restructuring and introduction of new ways of working and processes resulted in a record year in sales and profit.

I am now looking for a new assignment

I used to work for Burton’s Foods to buy in finished products, either to reduce costs or to increase our range of products. These products include the range of Bertolli biscuits. You know us through our brands, Maryland cookies, Jammie Dodgers, Cadbury biscuits and Wagon Wheels

Previously I was General Manager Direct Sourcing for B&Q and General Manager Global co-packing for Kingfisher. Previous to this I did nearly every functional job for Masterfoods / Mars Inc / M&Ms.

I have a degree in Chemistry and a M.B.A from the University of Strathclyde. I have worked in world class organisations in the food, fmcg, retail, packaging and chemical industries for Mars, Courtaulds and Kingfisher.

My experience covers Plant Management, Business Development, Technical Management, Training, Internal Consultancy, Project and Change Management.

I worked and lived in France for 10 years and I have led teams based in Austria, France, Holland and Germany. In addition, I have led global teams and been responsible for Business Development in Asia, Africa, and Ireland.

My Beliefs
The important role of training and coaching. Seen everywhere, one that gave me pleasure was when I helped my local village (2000 habitants) chess team go from a freshly promoted team in division 2 to take them to division 1 champions and becoming champions of Alsace (a region of France).

From Brave Hearts to Heathens. A variation on early adopter theory. Spend your time with the passionate who will try anything and do the impossible, they will motivate and lead the sheep, forget the heathens who want to do nothing, if necessary let the brave hearts butcher them.
